Using Objects and Methods
Variables, expressions, objects, methods, and the building blocks of Java programs.
Java foundationsBuild Java skills from November through May with live instruction, guided practice, and focused preparation for the May 12, 2027 AP exam.
A supplemental path alongside a student’s AP CSA course—not a replacement for the full-year class.
Variables, expressions, objects, methods, and the building blocks of Java programs.
Java foundationsBoolean logic, conditional statements, loops, and careful code tracing.
Control flowDesigning classes, constructors, instance variables, and methods that work together.
Object-oriented JavaArrays, ArrayLists, two-dimensional arrays, searching, sorting, and recursion.
Algorithms & dataNovember–December: Java foundations, objects, methods, selection, and iteration.
January–February: class creation, constructors, and methods that work together.
March: arrays, ArrayLists, two-dimensional arrays, and data collections.
April–May: timed multiple-choice and free-response practice, with review before classes end May 8.
Four free-response focus areas: methods and control structures; class design; data analysis with ArrayList; and 2D arrays. The May 12 exam is fully digital in Bluebook, with 42 multiple-choice questions and 4 free-response questions.
This cohort is for students taking AP Computer Science A who want a stronger grasp of the concepts and more confidence applying them.
We’ll connect new Java concepts to familiar problem-solving ideas, work through examples together, and use practice questions to find what needs more attention. This cohort adds targeted support and exam preparation alongside the student’s AP CSA class; it is not a replacement for a full-year AP course. Your O Level and A Level Computer Science background is welcome, but no Cambridge syllabus is required.
Classes follow one of three schedules, with no more than 10 students in a section.

Dr. Malick brings university teaching and academic leadership experience together with more than 25 years in technology. He teaches Computer Science with a clear, structured approach: make the concept understandable, practise it in context, then build confidence with exam-style problems.
We’ll make sure the program matches the student’s needs and schedule.
Share the student’s grade, time zone, and the AP CSA topics they want to strengthen.
We’ll share the schedule, current availability, support details, and payment terms.
Meet the cohort, set learning goals, and begin working through Java together.
Dr. Ibrahim Malick, PhD, teaches the classes personally.
Each class combines a short Java lesson, guided coding or code tracing, and live review of student questions and work. Students may submit practice for instructor feedback and use course chat between sessions. Chat hours and expected response times are provided before enrollment.
